Re: SDR/Uno Won't Use VSC

This is an alternative to VAC I used successfully in the past:

Re: dump1090 and RSP2 notch filters

I find myself disoriented after reading your response. The AM/FM BC notch filter of the RSP2 is software-selectable but I though it was an 'actual' filter, not a 'software filter' (DSP filter ?)... The RSP2 FM filter is specified as providing >60dB on the range 80 – 100MHz. So I understood it is us...

Re: dump1090 and RSP2 notch filters

Hi There is no way that a software filter could be of any use on a signal outside the maximum 10 MHz bandwidth of the RSP. And even when it is useful it uses a lot of dynamic range and processing power. To protect from 100MHz when receiving 1GHz a shorted IGHz quarter wave line connected with a T ad...

Re: DRM reception with SDRPlay and SDRUno

With Sodira you can use ExtIO_SDRplay_RSP1.dll and control directly your SDRPlay. sodira.gif On the GUI I recommend using Zero IF with 200KHz bandwidth as Sodira is not suited for wide bandwidth. Also check enable post tuner DC/IQ Compensation in the advanced panel to avoid the zero IF line on the p...

Re: Visualising 1090 MHz pulses

Hi
It should be possible but the software is missing AFAIK.
A possible trick would be to record I/Q as an audio file with high 3 MHz sampling rate
and then to play it back much slower in audacity or another software able to display audio waveforms.

Re: Having bad AM broadcast interfernce

HI
In case of local interference by a single transmitter a sharp notch filter tuned on the frequency
is the best solution.
It can be left permanently and it helps receiving stations very close to the strong one

Re: RSP2 LO 3rd harmonic spurious response only -20dBC

but the truth is, that if you connect a decent antenna into RSP2, during nighttime / good condix in MW band you will also be hearing a lot of signals which actually don't reside in MW band, but are from somewhere higher. I totally agree with you . The nice thing is that playing with LO frequency an...

Re: RSP2 LO 3rd harmonic spurious response only -20dBC

It looks like the IQ mixers are not analog multipliers like in old Motorola MC1496 circuit but instead IQ mixers are working in switched mode. So the LO is like a square wave. The spectrum of that includes odd harmonics and the only way to get rid of spurious conversion products is to filter input ...
