Tuner IF AGC Setpoint

Would someone please explain what "Tuner IF AGC Setpoint" does or mean in the Main-CAL window? Changing the value doesn't have any obvious effect.

Re: How to change the LO frequency

I've found that having two RX windows open is more effective for independent control of the LO and VFO. Leveraging off the fact that RX-00 is the only one that can control the LO, I have that RX open solely for moving the LO frequency. The second window is RX-01 which is used for VFO tuning and sign...

Re: SDRConsole and SDRplay

The resultant frequencies always being rounded to the nearest 0.1 looks suspicious to me. I don't use SDRConsole, however SDRUno has a feature that defines the frequency tuning step and the output frequency will snap to the nearest frequency with respect to the tuning step size. I wonder if SDRC has...

Re: IF GAIN

A significant disadvantage in disabling IF AGC is exposing vulnerability to overdriving the ADC which leads to nasty things like images, intermodulation products and possibly de-sensing signals of interest. I think the overdrive warning flag doesn't work if you disable IF AGC, so you won't know the ...

Re: SDRUno Recording - Bandwidth and Timer Function

The recording spectrum is determined by the sample rate and decimation you've selected in the Main window, it's the same as "Final SR". The recorder seems to simply write the post-decimation data stream as a WAV file - there are no supplemental sampling controls in the Recorder function. Y...

Re: Record fails with "Unable to create a new output WAV file"

Check your setup. First thing I'd look for is whether the folder path you've specified actually still exists. Does your target drive have enough free space. Creating the WAV file may require Windows to reserve disc space & you don't have enough the process will fail. This happens if your target ...

Re: Erratic RF Gain control

Actually, I've developed an SDRUno user guide, albeit incomplete, that's available from my Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nz5t2x9ge8td1o2/AACv0z1hKxSJJo6v0OWKg3-pa?dl=0 I've posted this link in the "new users" forum as well. It's in LibreOffice Calc .ods format. As mentioned, it is in...

Re: Operation Difficulties

I've taken some time going through each and every indicator and control on SDRUno V1.13 and created a spreadsheet in an attempt to explain all of them. There are some points that are still in question so this is a work in progress. The spreadsheet is in OpenText .ods format and you can get it from m...

Re: Channel Skew Adjustment Procedure

g1hbe: I did some adjustments after finding a VHF signal 50 dB. above the noise and managed to null out the image with some amplitude and phase adjustment, so thanks again for your guidance. The adjustment wasn't much, only a tick on amplitude and about 1.3 deg in phase. There are four slider select...

Erratic RF Gain control

Is it just me, or do others find the RF Gain (Gain Reduction) control on the Main window to be inconsistent? With IF AGC enabled in Main-SETT-INPUT, moving the RF gain slider results in non-linear, and sometimes reversing, changes in Gain. E.g. at mid-range, it might report 40 dB. Gain, then 35 dB. ...
