Diversity Demo in Xenia

Hi, this is for Andy. I was one of those privileged few to see the diversity reception demonstration at Xenia Ohio at the Hamvention. I spoke at length to you about it. I was delighted with the conversation. There is one bit from that conversation that I suspect you may wish you had not said, and th...

Re: Protection agains lightning strikes

You have asked for help on an immense topic. Ham radio operators have been grappling with that question for decades. For starters there are many, many good resources you could familiarize yourself with, such as http://www.arrl.org/lightning-protection or https://www.polyphaser.com/ . How much money ...

Re: RSP2 became deaf

A couple of questions: Is the signal path exactly the same to the RSP and the Yaesu? Same cable, same adapters etc? Try replacing any that differ even if they look fine. Does the problem exist at HF? At VHF? or only at UHF? Did the failure happen while you were listening, or between sessions? Maybe ...

Re: Ignore silence during recording?

Until SDRuno implements this feature, if you are on Windows you can use Audacity open source software. Under the Transport menu select Transport Options > Sound Activated Recording. You can then set the level at which recording is triggered.

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

Thank you again, this is truly fantastic software. Here I show my return loss for a homebrew 443 MHz antenna I made in 5 min from some solid wire and a BNC connector. I am using the wide band noise generator and mini-circuits directional coupler method. http://w0faa.net/returnloss_sml.jpg

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

Follow up: On other frequencies with different settings this effect is much less pronounced but still occurs. Looking at the raw data on the screen it appears there may be, for whatever reason, more negative excursions in my noise than positive ones which would of course skew the readings. I don't k...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

This software is more exciting by the minute as I try each function, but I have a question as to how the average function works in a trace. I am consistently seeing the "Average" trace showing a lower level than the "apparent average" I see on the raw trace. My expectation would ...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

Thank you thank you thank you! I started checking every 12 hours and suddenly surprise, available for download! Thank You! Feedback: If I change frequency by moving the cursor to the input box and typing a new frequency, then I press Enter, Windows emits the Asterisk sound. Is that intended? I would...

Re: Remotely Reset/Reboot RSP2Pro

Perhaps you could use Device Manager to disable and re-enable the RSP device when you are remotely controlling?
