Re: Morse Decoding

Thanks for the suggestions guys - but it turned out to be much simpler using Windows itself .. :) Here's the link showing how to use “Stereo Mix” which makes sound card output available to another program :D http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/39532/how-to-enable-stereo-mix-in-windows-7-to-record-audio/ ...

Re: Morse Decoding

Thanks guys - I'd never come across a 'virtual cable' :) I tried it, but the only activity I noticed at one attempt, was that CWGET was trying to decode CW from the music output of Windows Media Player .. Obviously not a good idea .. :) I think I need an 'Idiots Guide to Virtual Cables'...

Morse Decoding

Hi, My SDRplay easily outputs CW signals via my soundcard to my speakers .. :) There is a very clever morse decoding program called CWGET by Sergei Podstrigailo, UA9OSV. This works by decoding morse audio fed to the microphone socket of your soundcard - very nice. :) Now this seems very close to hav...

Re: SDR console ver 2.3 quit working

Hello,

I would recommend that you uninstall it and install HDSDR instead. :)

I tried both when I first got my SDRplay receiver, and I much preferred HDSDR.
Reception was clearer and it had less background noise.

best wishes, :)

Re: Antenna input socket

Hi folks,

OK, I've managed to put my SDRplay into a diecast box with an SO239 socket, and put that into a wooden case .. :)

Here it is - I'm happy now :D

Piccies attached ..

best wishes,

Graham G4EVW

Re: images & co

Hi, For myself, I shall be mainly using the 0 - 30 MHz bands, all modes, with HDSDR. :D 80 - 110 MHz I have covered with my Hi-Fi FM receiver. Anything higher in frequency is pretty well line of sight, directional, and requires high gain aerials. So there's not much of use to me at the higher freque...

A Bargain

Hi folks, I’m a very happy old man. :D Yesterday, I sat enthralled listening to some real music – a program of jazz and song with the likes of Buddy Rich drumming up a storm. Toe tapping, heart warming entertainment that you are unlikely to find in BBC offerings these days. :) I would have paid up f...

First Encounter

Hello, The SDRplay is my first encounter with software defined radio – I’m very impressed. :D Over the years I’ve had many receivers, such as the Eddystone 840, Trio 9R59DS, Kenwood R2000, and Yaesu FRG7700. They varied in sensitivity, selectivity, and stability – and cost much more than the SDRplay...

Re: Antenna input socket

Hi Dave, Thanks for the link to the F type socket - it's still too flimsy for me :) I looked around but couldn't find an SO239 panel mounting socket to IPX plug. Even the chinese hadn't imagined such a thing it seems :) I forgot to include the picture of the Trio 9R59 which I put in a wooden case - ...

Re: Antenna input socket

OK, it's gone into the die cast aluminium box - now you can drop it on the floor, kick it, hit it with a hammer or swing it by it's cables and all will be well. :D All I have to do now is put another splash of paint on the box, and do a bit of woodwork to make a nice case for it. I'll have to wait '...
