Re: Innocent question

Hi Paul. Can't say I've seen any change, but then I have filters all over the place and tend not to see MW images etc anyway. Chances are you have changed something without realising it. Sampling rate and ZIF/LIF setting can cause a difference in performance. What exactly are you seeing, and where?

Re: 2 minor issues

Mike. Greetings from another RSP2 owner. I've never run it with the IF AGC off, so I thought I'd check and confirm (or not) your findings. I discovered that my RSP2 (with SDRUno 1.22) behaves exactly as yours does. Looks like another small bug to be sorted!

Re: SDRuno 1.22 Released

Hi Lena.
I've just installed the update and checked the combo view, but no flickering here. Windows 8.1

Re: Construction of an active rx only hula-loop antenna

I find loops fascinating and extremely useful from a noise-busting point of view. I have a Wellbrook loop type 1530 and it has saved my hobby from the curse of noise. However, as you say it is is quite possible to make a loop for very little cost if you use a little ingenuity. I have built a number ...

Re: Antenna feed line length question

With just 5 or 10 metres of feeder on HF you'll be fine, even with standard RG58. The loss will be quite small. However, if you plan to listen on VHF/UHF at a later date, the situation becomes more complicated. Your HF antenna will not do for VHF/UHF so you'll need two antennas (at least!) and a fee...

Re: RSP2 Pro HF reception question

There have been a few instances of A & B inputs being swapped over in recent batches. Sounds like someone at the factory is mixed up!

Re: RSP2 and FM band sensitivity

I haven't got any figures here, but I find the RSP2 as sensitive (or more so) as any other RX in my shack. To get the best out of it on very weak signals it is important to make sure there are no very strong signals within the selected b/w, so always select a sampling rate & decimation which giv...

Re: RSP2 with an MFJ 1886 loop antenna

The 1886 looks like a close relative of the famous Wellbrook 1530 loop. The RSP2 works best on HF via its H-z input (the two SMA inputs are not so good on the lower HF bands) so the Hi-z is the one. You can take the output coax from the MFJ interface box and connect it directly to your RSP and it'll...

Re: Monitor multiple channels at one time?

I tend not to use multiple RX's (I'm old-fashioned that way) so I don't know how to set them up. But if you are asking how to open one RX with a width of 10 MHz, just choose a sample rate of 10 MHz and a decimation rate of 1. This will give a spectrum/waterfall width of 10 MHz, and whatever receive ...

Re: Low cost LNA recommendations?

I've heard good reports of the LNA4ALL, but never used one. Do you really need an external LNA? The RSP's have very sensitive front-ends when the internal LNA is turned on and applying even more gain may cause overloading effects. Perhaps you have a very long run of feeder? (Sorry if I'm teaching Gr...
