Gazzman. Sounds like you have major local noise problems which can really complicate matters. I am in the same boat but much less severe. Trying any type of wire antenna (even well away from the house and fed with coax) just produces noise. The Wellbrook loop mounted at gutter height at the end of t...
Hi Gazzman. First of all, welcome to our happy band. The RSP's are fine receivers, but they need a certain amount of care to get the best out of them. First of all, the two SMA inputs are really not suitable if you have big signals in your area. They have a lot more internal gain and are noisier on ...

Hi Jon. I find SDRUno runs fine on my shack laptop, which is an i5/2.4 Ghz/4 GB machine. However, I don't use more than one VRX at a time and I never use a b/w of more than 8 MHz. I think you'll need a more powerful machine if you want to use full b/w and multiple VRX's. I can even run it on my old ...
You shouldn't need a pre-amp on HF at all, as reception is limited by external noise. On VHF and above, you may need one if you are looking for very weak sigs like satellites etc, but the amplifier should preferably tuned to the frequency of interest (not wideband) or you can get overload and interm...

That's a strange one. I'm sure the team will be able to help, but as a first approach I'd do a reset (OPT menu/reset to default) to see if that clears it.
Hi Paul. Can't say I've seen any change, but then I have filters all over the place and tend not to see MW images etc anyway. Chances are you have changed something without realising it. Sampling rate and ZIF/LIF setting can cause a difference in performance. What exactly are you seeing, and where?
Mike. Greetings from another RSP2 owner. I've never run it with the IF AGC off, so I thought I'd check and confirm (or not) your findings. I discovered that my RSP2 (with SDRUno 1.22) behaves exactly as yours does. Looks like another small bug to be sorted!

I find loops fascinating and extremely useful from a noise-busting point of view. I have a Wellbrook loop type 1530 and it has saved my hobby from the curse of noise. However, as you say it is is quite possible to make a loop for very little cost if you use a little ingenuity. I have built a number ...
