Re: RSP1A sample rate

I don't think you can, you have to choose from the values in the menu.

Re: New Member/User from Scotland.

Steven - my HP laptop is an i5 clocked at 2.4 GHz with 4 Gigs of memory. Running my RSP2 with one RX enabled at 2MHz b/w, it hovers around SYS17% and SDR 12% CPU load. I can leave Uno running while I surf the net without problem. Even at 8 MHz bw it seems fine. It sure sounds like something is a bit...

Re: RSP1a and BIAS-T

I think there is an over-current trip which turns off the bias-T if more than 100mA is drawn. From the datasheet: 4.7V /100mA Guaranteed. Note : Bias T has an over current protection circuit. Current in excess of 100mA will cause the bias T voltage to disable. Removal of the overcurrent condition an...

Yes, I believe there is a button in the 'main' window.

Re: New Member/User from Scotland.

Hi again Steven. If it's anything like our recently-bought HP laptop, it will be loaded with all manner of 'helpful' (NOT) applications, some of which will run from start-up. Stuff like performance monitors, virus sweepers and update checkers. A pain in the neck. It's worth disabling these and dragg...

Re: New Member/User from Scotland.

Welcome! Audio hiccups and pausing are normally down to a lack of power in the PC. My old P6200 laptop would get its pants in a knot if I went above about 6 MHz sample rate, but my newer i5 is happy all the way up. Or it could be that there are several background processes running (things like virus...

Re: RSP2PRO vs RSP1a

The most obvious difference is the three selectable antenna inputs on the RSP2. Two SMA types which are best for VHF and the high-z terminal block which is optimised for 0 - 30 MHz. The RSP1a has only one input but the input filters and signal routing has been changed to make it suitable for all fre...

Re: Further to Wellbrook ALA1530LN connection to HI-Z port

Not at all, Paul. I hate to see newcomers put off by problems that actually have simple answers if only someone would take a few minutes to explain. Andy Ikin told me he's slowing his business down now he's 'getting on a bit', but it looks like the advent of cheap SDR's has caused a surge in demand!

Re: Further to Wellbrook ALA1530LN connection to HI-Z port

Yes, you can connect the coax output from the Wellbrook interface box directly to the Hi-z input. Fit a link between N & G and connect the coax with the inner to P and the screen to G. I used mine like this for some time and it worked well. However, in my quest for lower noise levels I later mad...

Re: Using a Wellbrook ALA1530LN on an RSP2

Hi Paul I use my Wellbrook 1530 withthe Hi-z port, as this port is more suited to LF/MF/HF use. It has lower noise, lower gain and better overload characteristics than the other two ports (at these frequencies). I keep the ports A & B for VHF. The one disadvantage of the Hi-z port is the lack of...
