Re: ALA1530LN and the tale of four NDB's

I wouldn't worry about it, Paul. It is completely counter-intuitive that the loop should receive best when 'edge-on' to the source. Until you start to analyse what's going on with a loop, that is. Then you get one of those 'Ah!' moments and you never look back. Sounds like your Wellbrook is working ...

Re: ALA1530LN and the tale of four NDB's

Me again, sorry.
Don't forget the main responses of the Wellbrook are 'off the edges', with a hole going through the centre of the loop.

Re: sdrplayrs2pro not working on sdrsharp

The latest versions of SDR# will not work with SDRPlay products as the writers of the software have deliberately prevented it.

Re: Software bug

Which software is this? SDRUno 1.22 won't accept it as it is above the top limit of the tuning.

Re: New, happy user

Hi Max. The original, first-version of Uno was indeed a bit of a pain as all you got on first use was a tiny start-up pane. You had to fiddle about opening the various panes and sliding them into position, then save. After that it would always start as you had saved it. The latest version of Uno ope...

Re: Low noise antenna feedline

Thanks for going to the trouble to post this Noel, it's all very useful info. Just one point - in a superhet with a 455 KHz IF, the image frequency will be at TWICE 455 KHz above the receiving frequency. This is because the local oscillator will be running at Fsignal + IF and the image response will...

Re: The Hi-Z connection

Hi Paul, it's Andy again. I bet you think I'm stalking you! I honestly cannot think of any reason why you should be seeing such poor reception on the Hi-z input from your active antennas, unless you are making a mistake with the connections. The output from the antennas DC power injector box should ...

Re: Newbie With A Question

Hello Henry and welcome to the forum. You'll need a standard USB-A to USB-B lead for the connection from the RSP to your PC and some kind of adapter or adapter lead with an SMA male plug on one end to a female connector which matches your own antenna connector. That's it. It's worthwhile reading all...

Re: In the interest of extending my paltry knowledge base

Although I can't really answer your question, I suspect some of these 'odd effects' that people see are down to perception. Bursts of noise, a strong signal appearing or disappearing etc will affect the AGC and cause the visible spectrum to jump up & down. In Ye Olde Days, we did not have any wa...

Re: RSP1A or RSP2?

I have the RSP2 and find the selectable antenna ports a real boon. The single input of the RSP1a means you'll need to plug/unplug all the time or get an antenna switch. The chipset in both units is the same, the only difference in technology between them is that the RSP1a has access to an extra coup...
