Re: Need new silly green connector for the Hi-Z

Can't say I've had any trouble with it, Wireman. Do you plug/unplug it a lot?

Re: SAM MODE "ANOMALY"

Hi Paul :-)

It would help if we called SSB by its proper name - Single Sideband Suppressed Carrier. Then everyone would instantly know what was going on. Modes USB and LSB are the ones to use, keep SAM for AM.

Re: Spurious signals every 12 MHz

OK I've just had a look. Ant A terminated with 50r. Most (if not all) 24 MHz harmonics are at ~100 and most 12 MHz ones are around -130. This is with the RF gain slider at its usual gain setting of 75% up (my slider is set for gain, not reduction). I've probably not noticed this too much as I rarely...

Re: Spurious signals every 12 MHz

The reference frequency is 24 MHz, so that's probably leaking around the circuitry a bit.

Re: RSP2pro -- nothing but noise

No problem John. My name is Andy, BTW. It's very easy to get lost in a kind of 'fug' of panic, confusion and disappointment when something appears not to be working, and the temptation to randomly press mysterious buttons can make things even worse. Enjoy your RSP, they are pretty good SDR's at any ...

Re: RSP2pro -- nothing but noise

OK, a couple of things - have you selected the hi-z input? The default antenna is Ant A. Have you followed the antenna connection guide in the manual? https://www.sdrplay.com/docs/RSP2andRSP2proDatasheetv2.2.pdf Next is frequency selection. Are you sure you are listening on your chosen frequency? De...

Re: Keyboard Entering Of Frequencies ?

First click the tuning cursor away from the central LO frequency. This will save trouble later. Now press the space bar. This puts you in 'freq entry' mode. Then enter your 10.2 (or whatever). Then hit M on your keyboard. You should now be on your chosen frequency. Now you can choose the mode - AM, ...

Re: Antenna conector

All antenna connectors are female SMA, so you'll need MALE SMA leads to stick in them. The only exception is the Hi-Z connector on the RSP2 and the Duo, which is a 3-pin type like this: https://www.sdr-kits.net/Hi-Z-Connector-RSP2

Re: Drivers won't install

I don't claim to be an expert in Windows or RSP drivers, but there's plenty of chatter about having to make sure W7 is fully updated or the drivers won't go in. Probably a few threads on here if you go back a bit.

Re: Noise?

You won't get good signals on the HF bands from a standard discone, they are for VHF only. A long wire or dipole (depending on your circumstances) is more suitable. A low noise solution is an active loop like the Wellbrook 1530.
