Re: New User

Have you looked at the most recent version of SDRUno? There have been some improvements for frequency span, zoom and resolution bandwidth. Note - I made some changes to the my previous post. I made a mistake with LNA and IF gain comments. [/quote] Thanks for the info, I'll install the latest & ...

Re: New User

There is nothing better than SDRUno for doing Spectrum Analyzer work with an RSP. That is because they have gone to considerable effort to make sure that the dBm levels are accurate as the IF and RF levels are changed by the user or AGC algorithm. All the other packages (SDR-Console, HDSDR, CubicSD...

Re: New User

For serious spectrum analyzer type measurements, far better to use SDRSharp (older version - v1.0.0.1361 works best) for this. See my posts on this forum at the link below for some experiences regarding this: http://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=1744 Controls in SDRSharp much more closel...

Re: Compared an RSP1A alternately with an RSP1

I've had (and loved) an RSP1 for over a year now. I hope this helps others know that the RSP has been and is a fine piece of gear, and while there are small refinements in the new model, they are evolutionary, not revolutionary. -Noel Thank you for this comparison, it reinforces my original thought...

Re: Fake stations on the spectrum

Remember that before we had spectrum displays, we probably wouldn't have known about the spurious responses of our receivers, it's only now we can see wide sections of spectrum that we notice them. Funny you should mention that because I was just thinking same as I tuned across the bands with my be...

Re: Fake stations on the spectrum

Well, here is what I see when doing that in SDR#...... http://point16.com/img/alsig1.png And going the other direction...... http://point16.com/img/alsig2.png I don't see any aliased signals. Is it just that I'm lucky enough to have a good location or ? EDIT: I did the same experiment using SDRUno a...

Re: Fake stations on the spectrum

Not sure why but I've never had this problem. I always keep the RSP1 in Low IF mode and the bandwidth at either 600khz or 1.536Mhz, and I NEVER use IF AGC. I manually set the IF Gain at 37 and it stays there unless I'm on the MWBC band and I then set it at 49. I also rarely use the preamp except in ...

Re: RSP1A and SDR#

I too continue to use SDR# because it is currently the ONLY SDR software which offers accurate features and display similar to those of a true spectrum analyzer with very good resolution down to less than 2khz.....Now if only it had markers and a delta function *sigh*.
