Re: RSP Spectrum analyser software available shortly

Thank you Steve, this is very nice and would really unlock more of the potential uses for these receivers as test instruments. Looks very good and covers pretty much everything we here have been hoping for. My feature suggestions are simple (unless these things are already here and I missed them ). ...

Re: What *nix distro ? To build an SdR box

I’ll try it thanks. Win 7 ummm, never got above XP. Will need to look for some cracked Win7 installation media I suppose. Last windows I bought was a Sony Vaio in 2004. Previous to that was a Pentium 2 266Mhz backnin about 1992. Moved to a Mac Pro 1,3 Tower Twin Processor machine in 08, and still u...

Here are a couple of screen shots of one of the 160m loops, SDR-Console software was easiest to adjust for spectrum range and colour.
Cheers,

Very nice Phil, and those spectrum plots are so PURTY! :). I'm off to take another look at SDR-Console for this.

Re: What *nix distro ? To build an SdR box

Look here: https://skywavelinux.com/ Skywave Linux is a version of Ubuntu with all needed radio things preinstalled. I've tried it and it works okay and of course you can tweak it to your liking. But, IMHO the various SDR programs for Linux, Mac, Android, etc. all have a long way to go before they a...

Re: Clear Recommended Computer requirements (for RSP on a Laptop)

I am using an RSP1 with HDSDR on an older Dell Optiplex 330 (Core Duo, 2.8ghz, 4ghz RAM) running Windows 7/32. I can go full bandwidth - 10mhz - with the RSP1 with no trouble and good demodulation with no chops or cutouts in the audio. CPU load averages 55-58%. I didn't do anything special, just ins...

Re: A couple of new user questions

Hi, I've no experience with the Raspberry Pi but I do wonder why HDSDR was bogging your computer as it is one of the most processor efficient programs available and works well on minimal computers.....

Re: Anyone ? - An SDRplay Radio Used As The Core Module

I use an RSP1A as an integrated modular part of a bigger system, in this case a roll-around test equipment cart. The cart contains an HP signal generator, dual trace oscilloscope, frequency counter, multimeter, onboard dedicated PC, wideband RF noise source, and storage for probes & cables. The ...

Re: RSP 1 Set-up settings challanges

4) I have seen two different DLL files called out during the course of my looking into my issue online. Below are both the files I have tried. I am confused as to which one I should be using at this point or does it matter. The files are ExtIO_RTL2832.DLL and ExtIO_RTL.DLL Neither of those are corr...

Re: SDRPlay RSP1 & SDR#?

I have an Airspy mini along with the latest SDRSharp and I don't see much difference between that and the RSP1A with older (1361) SDRSharp except for a few performance unrelated niceties such as on-screen bandplan etc. so if you're using the older 1361 version with your RSP1A then you've got all of ...
