Re: what can it be this huge interference.... ??

IMD normally should be seen all over the spectrum, not only limited to a part of it with sharp cutoffs. But indeed the 10 kHz spacing could indicate IMD from strong local US mediumwave stations. In this case the interfering carriers should be modulated with broadcast content and change their amplitu...

Re: what can it be this huge interference.... ??

Agreed: This can be almost everything. Photovoltaic inverters, lawn mowing robots, LED bulbs... The engineers have a vivid imagination in creating all sorts of RF noise with their devices. This depends on the model, manufacturer of the device and one can seldom identity a noise source from a spectru...

Re: Page of free sofware for SDR!!!

With Sigmira you also must face that it immediately mutes the default recording device audio level after start. Doing this it excludes itself from receiveing signals from e. g. VB Cable Output. You have to un-mute the recording device in the system property tab and click "Mute" in Sigmira ...

Re: Interference identification?

Interesting read on the subject... http://www.homegridforum.org/uploads/resources/tF6A/4oMq.pdf Yes, the members of the PLC interests group have noticed in the meantime that many PLC devices in a building interfere with each other: PLC networking with LAN or WLAN extenders, "smart home" g...

Re: Interference identification?

For unwanted emissions from cable TV there are tight noise limits in Germany (likewise for FM transmitters for mp3 players or similar, opposite to PLC where the regulations are very loose). When informing the authorities there is more chance to stop such RFI than stopping PLC. This is what the staff...

Re: RSP RFI

The major problem is not RFI created in our own house or created by the construction of the receiver itself (shielding, computer noise a.s.o). We BCLs all normally have the technical skill to overcome such noise with shielding, choke filters, common mode chokes, grounding, galvanic isolation, whatev...

Re: Interference identification?

Heinrich I tried to reply to your PM but it seems you have opted to no receive PMs from other members. Not important though. Thanks, there seems to be a problem with my email account. But no so important. We cannot do anything against the QRM anyway. And yes, I know that 100 kHz spaced harmonics of...

Yes. I already tried the "Worked All PLC" award. But my neighbours did not send QSL cards for my reception reports. :(

Re: Interference identification?

13dka, we BCLs and hams do not have the power, influence and money to go into lawsuits. And the outcome of such lawsuits is uncertain. We had some cases in Germany where the filers lost. And even if you should win a lawsuit against one of your neighbours: When you come home from court three other ne...

Re: Interference identification?

Well, I really do not want to swing the hammer of Eurosceptics. But European standards have often undermined more practical local standards. E. g. in my PLC example the noise clearly offended the previous German regulations of electromagnetic conformity. But the "harmonised" European law r...
