Re: 3rd party Metal Case for SDR1

I designed the case to meet all the minor complaints and aesthetics of the RSP-1.

1 A solid attractive metal case that can handle abuse.
2 All connections in the rear
3 All the inputs labeled
4 A decent FM notch
5 A ground lug
6 A travel case for on the go.

Re: what can it be this huge interference.... ??

What is your location?
What is in your surrounding area? Solar panels? LED lights for the streets?

That looks like power line noise to me. How high up the band is the noise?
Did you put a rotor on the loop? How is it pointed?

Re: Using SDR Play with LDG tuner

It takes very little RF to blow the front end of the RSP. You need at least 5-10w minimum either dead key or a CW carrier to engage the LDG tuner properly. I suggest a manual tuner if your want to zero in on signals with the RSP. You can find them used at Ham fest for $30 or online from $30-50. If y...

Re: OLDER PC FOR SDRplay

P4 with two gigs of ram should be ok to run HDSDR. I don't think you will be able to process a full 8 gig of bandwidth. You would want to run the zero if mode at 1.5 with a bandwidth of 2 megs If it starts to stutter in audio dropouts go into low If Mode and lower the bandwidth further Good luck Mike

Re: What fun!

With your setup and antennas i would recommend the following setting in the EXT/IO Turn off the AGC Ride your gain control in the 60 (high)- 70 (low) per conditions per band. Usually 65-60 is the sweet spot. Later i will post a my complete tutorial on optimizing the SDRPLAY with HDSDR. All the best ...
