Re: active antenna

Hi Avi I'm certainly not setting myself up as any kind of expert, merely passing on my experiences where they may be of assistance to others "just starting out." Please note that i am using the HI-Z port myself with a long-wire antenna and 9:1 balun and not the mini-whip, which is currentl...

Re: active antenna

[quote="lenahh"]A 9:1 balun, or to be exact a unun is useless at the hi-z port. Hi there With due respect to someone with no doubt far more technical kowledge than myself, I have used this antenna (see link): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHF-80-The-Winning-Low-Noise-HF-Longwire-antenna-for-S...

Re: Spikes

Thanks for the input Heinrich I didn't think there would be a "silver-bullet" fix, but at my knowledge level, there was always hope. To be honest, it's more a visual nuisance than ACTUAL noise and I had wondered whether it might be possible to notch-out the base frequency if that is what p...

Re: active antenna - a little info

Hi Barrie Not going to nag on about this, but I just thought that it might be helpful, if I passed on a couple of things that I found out whilst messing around with these active mini-whips. 1. No good indoors (as the instructions say, if I remember correctly. 2. I would avoid any metal fixings aroun...

Spikes

As our lovely SDRplay RSP's are of course "computerised," is it safe to presume that computer produced "interference" is inevitable, or is this down to the computer used? If it is in fact inevitable, what, if any measures can be taken to ameliorate this? Any suggestions or answer...

Re: active antenna

Hi Barry/Barrie This is the long-wire antenna that I have feeding into my HI-Z Port: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHF-80-The-Winning-Low-Noise-HF-Longwire-antenna-for-SWL-TX/192468332135?hash=item2cd001ae67:g:NkAAAOSwPgxVTQxD I am well satisfied with it (RX only - I am neither licensed to transmit on ...

Re: active antenna

Hi Barrie I am hesitant to make recommendations based on my shallow experience. However, I have one of these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MiniWhip-Active-Antenna-Assembled-in-Box-HF-LF-VLF-mini-whip-sdr-RX-portable/222469570201?hash=item33cc383e99:g:YugAAOSwc-tY63MT It works very well (well grounded...

Re: frequency selection glitch in 1.22

Hi Al Fairly new to this as well. If I understood your post correctly, this is how to do what I believe that you want to do. In whatever mode you may be, simply right-click to the left of the tuned frequency shown in the "RX Control Panel" and a drop-down list of frequency steps will appea...

Re: general audio output tone control

Hi Roger
Have you experimented with he HP Filter control, located within the "Sett" menu of the RX Control panel?
Use either mouse L/R keys or wheel to increment/decrement - this does have a tonal effect.
I hope this may be of help to you.
