You may have something else going on if after 5-10 minutes the CPU usage climbs from 10% to over 50% (mine always stays quite steady within a small range). Have you tried doing a CTL+Shift+Esc to start the Task Manager to see what processes are running and using resources, both before and after the ...

This is a good review. Although I normally have the SDRPlay RSP connected to a small Windows 10 laptop, I don't have any problems running it on an XP desktop - not sure why this review indicates that 'unless you still use XP, you have the basics in place for an amazing journey into "radio surfi...
And now i am also bemused (more than before). It wasn't working this AM after last night when it was OK. So just now I got completely out of HDSDR and re-started HDSDR and then checked EXTIO and all of a sudden the database status is Good and I am seeing the Station ID in the Station Name Panel OK.
It worked OK last night for me. The station name panel came up, I moved it to an unused portion of the audio waterfall and it would identify stations as I moved to their frequency. I have HDSDR installed on 5 computers - 1 tablet, 2 laptops, and 2 desktops. Here's what I have found with them as far as performance with HDSDR and SDRPlay. Any CPU with a Passmark score of less than 1000 is likely to be limited at least in some way - bandwidth, response, mullti-tasking, etc. The P...
Thanks, Mike! I will take a look (even though I'm at work!)...I find the more I use HDSDR and just play with the settings to get a good sound and to dig out weak signals, the more intuitive it becomes, even if it is just by trial and error so far...
As a long-time SWL (not a ham, although my Dad was) I like turning knobs and dials. But after less than a week with SDRPlay and HDSDR I'm pretty much converted to SDRs! Now I'm afraid my small collection of SW radios is going to be just collecting dust...even my CommRadio CR-1 is liable to sit idle....
