Re: Antennas for getting started with SDR

To see how the RSP performs with a G5RV wire antenna you can try one remotely by following the instructions on v2.sdrspace.com

Re: SDRplay and SWL usage

I have asked Daveb if he would write up his methods - see http://skywavesdx.org/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=629&p=2121#p2121 Meanwhile for other people interested in playing with an SDRplay RSP I've set one up for remote access using SDR-Console. The antenna is a G5RV wire antenna which is optimise...

Try the RSP remotely- give your feedback on our forum

Why not take a test drive using SDR-Console? We have set up an RSP with an HF wire antenna in Bedfordshire, UK, which can be remotely accessed using SDR-Console. Follow the instructions on http://v2.sdrspace.com - the username is sdrplay and Password rsp. the antenna is a modest G5RV wire antenna so...

Re: SDRplay and SWL usage

SDRplay confirm that they will be adding PPM correction to all all plugins over time. They also confirm that the feedback on the forum re AGC has been valuable and it is likely that future plug-ins will default to no AGC for HF operation (under 50MHz) - we continue to welcome comments on the subject.

Re: Antenna input socket

The technical team appreciated your comments here. They agonised for a long while on screening and decided that actually a plastic (unscreened) box was better. The problem is that the biggest source of interference is the USB cable and the USB comms...putting in a screened box can often cause the US...

Re: SDRplay and SWL usage

I would like to follow up on this interesting post from Genoa (Dear Mr Genoa - please re-register on our new forum so that we can make this an active thread again!) Here is an edited highlight of what was posted by 'Mr Genoa' a few weeks ago..... According to "SDRplay limited" the SDRplay ...

Re: SDRPlay RF Input

Not sure exactly what you're trying to do. I don't think the cable TV companies encourage this since they tend to have lots of encrypted/proprietary handshaking going on since they own both ends of the cable. presumably you want to analyse/try to process the digital streams. You should be OK signal ...

Re: SDRplay Under Linux ( Ubuntu )

We are getting close to having support for GNU Radio. We prioritised SDR-Console and HDSDR plug-ins - HDSDR was released at the weekend. I'll try and post a better estimate for exactly when we will have GNU Radio.

Re: Antennas for getting started with SDR

This is a re-posting of the earlier post with the urls updated... Because the RSP from SDRplay covers the radio spectrum from 100Kz to 2GHz for best results it''s worth taking time to rig up an appropriate antenna. Many of the people I''ve spoken see the SDRplay RSP as an ideal platform for just exp...
