Re: Using SDR# to drive the SDRplay RSP

Version 1.5 of the plug-in has solved an issue with unreliable tuning I was about to report. The auto IQ imbalance is still not working so still an issue with annoying IF images on strong signals when tuning around. Hopefully the SDR team will be able determine whether a change in the plug-in will f...

Issue with AGC operation

Using the latest HDSDR plug-in I've noticed some strange behaviour with the LNA GR threshold in relation to the Overall gain reduction. Basically with the gain reduction threshold reduced to turn off the LNA the (Total) Gain reduction figure increases . Examples in 5 MHz B/W in different parts of th...

Re: SDRPlay overload "issue" on FM band

I've been trying this out a bit more and have replicated the 'problem'. So may I suggest for the next release of the HDSDR plug-in that a tick box option be given for the LNA to be off manually. I suspect the problem is mixer overload with 20dB+ from a masthead preamp +19dB internal pre-amp in front...

Re: HDSDR Plug-in

No it's not just you - it's happened to me a few times. Speifically when I enter a direct frequency and forget to press "M" for MHz and it accepts it as kHz. Clicking on "Stop" and then "Start" clears the problem.

SDRPlay overload "issue" on FM band

For info: Beaming west - which is unusual - I've suceeded in overloading the SDR and generating inter-modulation products out of band. A number of input signals would have been above 70 dB and my set up includes a 20+dB preamp which is probably delivering 16dB extra after signal splitting. AGC was o...

Re: SDRPlay - Future Plans

One thing that might be beneficial if you have to do a new production run would be, in my opinion, to have a separate antenna input for 150kHz - 30 MHz. As the design stands it would have to be 150 kHz to 60 MHz because of the way the filters / pre-amp are switched but as I read the circuit schemati...

Re: Some questions regarding Mirics FM-DAB Player and API

Slightly off-topic as DAB Player isn't for SDRPlay - but thanks Andi fot the software. I've been using it with an RTL stick and it should be excellent for DAB DX-ing. It would be even better if the Transmitter Identification Database data that is supposed to be transmitted was also decoded and displ...

DRM audio codec - building - HELP!

I've found the DRM decoder - successfully receiving it on 5940 kHz from 1800-1900 transmitting in AAC+ - except that it says "no audio codec found". Turns out that due to licencing issues they can't distribute the AAC codecs! So you have to build your own. Can anyone tell me what the instr...

Re: Using SDR# to drive the SDRplay RSP

I mean you reach the corner of the "filter" and you may tune a signal outside the "flat" bandpass. I don't know if this is a problem of SDR#, of SDR# plugin or what else... It is a function of the software and it is very irritating :x . Try using HDSDR instead. It has a LO (Loca...

Re: Using SDR# to drive the SDRplay RSP

if you try to set the overall gain reduction to 60 dB, it can only do this by attempting to set the IF gain reduction to 60 dB What about the Mixer gain reduction of 19dB that will kick in? After the LNA has turned off (-24dB) when the IF GR reaches a certain level the mixer gain will drop by 19dB ...
