I got my RSP2 this afternoon, woohoo! I was about time! Gladly I had the latest API etc. installed, so I just had to plug it in and put it to a test. The RSP initially had a gap between 370 and 420MHz with the standard LO frequency of 120MHz. To make reception possible in that range anyway, they later introduced a scheme to change the LO frequency when you tune through this range. 144MHz gives you gaps from 250 to 255MHz and 400 to 420MHz, 168MHz...

If the whole frequency scale turns yellow you're fully zoomed out (so there's no zoomed area to shift left or right). Zoom in a little and you'll see how it works.
