Re: Long USB cable extension

USB is limited to 5m. It is strange that you could get a 6.5m cable. But here I once tried 2 cables 5+2 m and it worked. I think the trick is to use big ,fat cables not the tiny ones that cause too much loss of power supply. Also not all USB ports on a computer are equal. Here hungry devices like ha...

Re: Feature request : 4 bit binary output

I support this idea.
But as it would need some hardware may be some kind of variable DC voltage on the aerial input could help.
Hi Z of course to support shorts :)

Re: Going Forward: VHF and Above Software Choices

I don't agree . :) Having the waterfall and the possibility to record a wide band is more useful than a scanner. With a scanner you can only receive one frequency at a time. Here identifying frequencies in use close to an airport is easy. The water fall allows me to identify morse code of various NA...

Performance in DAB+ and DVBT reception

That's one of the nice features of SDRplay to be able to do more things than the competitors. For DVBT it works here with VLC + a *.m3u file and Blaze HDTV6.0 as delivered with many RTL dongles. I had no luck with the Mirics DVBT software until now. Anyway it doesn't seems to have any advantage over...

Re: Feature request - per freq range gain settings

Hi I think it will be hard to find a setting that suits everybody. It highly depends on the antenna in use and ,at least on HF, of the time of the day. Storing the gain with the memories would be nice anyway as it is the case for bandwidth. On the other hand I find the huge range of manual gain sett...

Gary, N5XED
+1
And ,as explained in the readme files , it was especially made to support the ExtIO.DLL when it was not . :D

Thanks for this information.
In fact they seem to be very easy to edit with notepad.
It's a shame that various programs didn't agree on a common file format and store them in various places.

Re: Unable to select Bandwidth INPUT sampling rate. Only OUTPUT rate.

No it is the header of *.WAV files that limits the size to 2 Gb not the file system of the hard drive. There is another problem with files recorded by sound cards. The accuracy of the sampling rate. If you make a 24H recording at 8 Khz jumping at the end of it can result in errors of +/- 10 minutes....

Re: SPDPlay Device Controller for Dummies

Hi In fact what you are asking for is hard to do. Soft ware Defined Radios are mainly limited by what you run the software on . On the SDR hardware side basic rules of radio applies: Use an antenna as suited to what you want to receive as possible. Use as little amplification as possible Use as litt...

Re: Mac Users - DO NOT BUY!

That's the main advantage with MACs :
Each time you buy a piece of hardware not supported you have no problems to sell it to somone else :D
