Re: 1/4 wave for 20 meters
Half waves are high impedance feed so you can get away with no ground. If your RX has a Hi-z antenna port it will match quite well.

Seventeen feet is about right, but remember you'll need an earth/gnd.

Re: SDRUno selected tuner/port startup bug with RSPDuo?
Sounds like either no-one else has had this problem or no-one knows how to correct it. Try opening a ticket over at the main SDRPlay site. I think it's in the 'support' tab.

Re: SDRuno MW/FM Broadcast Notch
If you take a look at the block diagram, you will see that the Hi-z antenna goes in at a much later stage than the A and B ports, bypassing the filters and notches. It's a bit of a mixed bag - it misses out on the filtering and notching, but it's actually a quieter receiver better suited to HF and l...

Re: Mains noise
Wow Phil, commiserations on the eye injury. I hope it recovers soon, but I know how slowly eye injuries go and how painful and irritating they can be. Good luck with it.

Re: ALA1530LN and the tale of four NDB's
I wouldn't worry about it, Paul. It is completely counter-intuitive that the loop should receive best when 'edge-on' to the source. Until you start to analyse what's going on with a loop, that is. Then you get one of those 'Ah!' moments and you never look back. Sounds like your Wellbrook is working ...

Re: ALA1530LN and the tale of four NDB's
Me again, sorry.
Don't forget the main responses of the Wellbrook are 'off the edges', with a hole going through the centre of the loop.

The latest versions of SDR# will not work with SDRPlay products as the writers of the software have deliberately prevented it.

Re: Software bug
Which software is this? SDRUno 1.22 won't accept it as it is above the top limit of the tuning.

Re: New, happy user
Hi Max. The original, first-version of Uno was indeed a bit of a pain as all you got on first use was a tiny start-up pane. You had to fiddle about opening the various panes and sliding them into position, then save. After that it would always start as you had saved it. The latest version of Uno ope...
