Re: Sangean Portable Antenna for RSP1A?

Remember that the Hi-z connector is best when using a short-wire antenna. It also has by far the best response at LF if that is your interest.

Re: sdrplay1

Welcome. The RSP's are all sensitive and well-performing receivers, and most performance issues are due to a bad choice of settings, poor antennas or incorrect operation. A good read of the manual and getting basic operation right before trying all the bells & whistles is recommended. When you say '...

Re: How to change Freq step

If you are using SDRUno, there is a bug which erroneously selects 100 KHz (instead of 100 Hz) when in LSB. You can correct it by following the normal procedure for step size selection as per the manual. The manual is available via the OPT menu. Or you can hover the mouse over the relevant digit in t...

Re: Automatic LNA settings w/band

Mark - I think this is a known bug. IIRC, it only happens if you have selected 'gain' rather than 'gain reduction'.

Re: general audio output tone control

Selecting the 'soft filter' feature might help. I find the digital filters give a rather harsh top end due to their super-flat response and steep sides. The soft filter gives the filters 'rounded shoulders' like hardware xtal/ceramic filters which knocks of the edginess.

Re: Anyone ? - An SDRplay Radio Used As The Core Module

Hi Paul. I did something like that with my original RSP1. I took the RSP's PCB and fitted it into a small diecast box with a homebrew filter bank. From memory I had: LPF for < 100 KHz LPF for < 500 KHz LPF for <1.7 MHz BPF for 160m amateur band HPF for >2 MHz for general SW listening. You may have g...

Re: RFI

Hi again Paul. Closely-spaced spikes are often the product of computer displays, TV's and data transfer devices like PLA's and USB cables. First, eliminate your own stuff by unplugging everything, or if you can run your setup on batteries, turn off the main breaker. How is you antenna fed? Hi-z wire...

Re: SDRUno squelch question

I suppose it's a matter of taste, but to me it seems wrong to use squelch on SSB. SSB is generally a DX.weak signal mode and it would be a very tricky thing to set up so it opens reliably on a weak SSB signal.

If you haven't already, maybe it's time to start a support request with the team.

Re: Does SDRuno Software Allow For Continuous Tuning ?

Paul WB5AGF. If you use the 'band' buttons, the LO will lock at the centre of the chosen band and the sample rate/decimation will be set so the band is framed properly. With the LO locked you cannot tune out of that band. If you want to tune freely, the LO lock should be OFF. With it off you can tun...
