Re: Airband

The SDRPlay has good sensitivity across its coverage. Its weakness is image responses, usually in the form of unwanted FM broadcast and DAB appearing at unexpected places. It's due to the conversion regime. Try selecting a different conversion frequency from the advanced menu, this might clear it. I...

Re: FM stations appearing in many bands

Some of the unwanteds are due to the conversion oscillator (just like a normal superhet), but others a traceable back to harmonics of the sampling frequencies. Sometimes you can make an unwanted response shift out of the way by moving the centre frequency (I guess this moves the LO frequency), but o...

Re: FM stations appearing in many bands

John This is a known phenomenon with the SDRPlay, as it is with other types of SDR. There is no way around it except by using an Band 2 rejector filter in the antenna feed. You may be able to move the FM responses out of the way by choosing a different sampling rate or another LO frequency (look und...

Re: Where is the bfo ?

If the Tecsun has a 'bfo' control, you've got used to adjusting that for correct voice pitch. In common with most other 'serious' receivers, the SDRPlay does not have a BFO control, it is fixed. Fine tuning is done with the main tuning control in small steps by hovering the mouse over the 10 or 100 ...

Re: SDRuno opens in tiny nonexpandable window

I may have the wrong end of the stick, but it sounds like you are describing the 'start' window that appears when you first run the software after installation. From this small window, you open up the main waterfall/spectrum window and the control panel. Together, these can fill the screen and you c...

good morning Hombre.
I'm not complaining. We all need to report bugs so that they can be dealt with. If the team does not know about them, they cannot fix them.

Another strange one.

I recently spotted this when tuning around MW. When tuning below (about) 3 MHz and with a bw of 0.2 MHz, if I press the 'perf' button in the main window I get lots of spikes appearing, spaced just a few KHz apart. This behaviour lessens with increasing frequency and is gone by 5 MHz or so. It is ver...

Re: Odd behaviours spotted so far.

I've tried that, Jim. I first increased it to -40 and that seemed to stop it, but it started again later. So I took it the other way and once again it stopped...then came back. I seem to recall that in its early days, the SRP had this problem with SDR# but was corrected with updates to the EXTIO file.

Re: New UNO 1.02 and VLF

Oh-oh. I think the VLF tuning is not quite fixed. Several times over the last couple of hours, the tuning has just stopped as I have been tuning downwards from 100KHz towards 20 KHz. As I tune, the numbers change but the actual reception doesn't!

New UNO 1.02 and VLF

Many thanks for the update - the odd tuning now seems to be fixed, but I'm not hearing much below about 50KHz. There are some strong-ish sigs around 22KHz which are easily heard on my other receivers, but there is no trace of them on the SRP?? MSF is there on 60 KHz, but it all tails off as I tune l...
