HP Laptop Brick noise
OK, so, up until now, I've been able to solve most of the issues I originally had while learning to use the SDR for ham radio communications. The only remaining issue is that the noise level jumps from S1-2 to S-7 when I plug in my HP laptop power supply. I've tried using ferrite snap on cores, but ...

Re: Proximity to computer
It also depends on the construction of the computer. I'm getting a spike every 17KHz that comes from my computer. It gets worse when I disconnect the power supply, and it seems to be coming through the antenna line because it goes away completely when I disconnect the antenna. I can significantly re...

Re: Receiver desensitized
Did you try using the notch filter to notch him out? Also, there is more than one AGC control. I don't even turn on the LNA on the HF bands and I set the base AGC level in the EX control window to about 90, but will move it up and down as necessary. Sometimes I also turn off the main AGC and manuall...

Re: sdruno/sdrplay/laptops
I saw in another thread that someone mentioned that some USB 3.0 ports are non-standard and can cause problems. Try using SDR Play through a hub.

Re: Strange offset
You didn't really give enough info to diagnose the problem, but OK, let's try some things. First, I noticed you have VFO B selected. Try selecting VFO A. Secondly, in the main window, you have a button labeled OPT. Click that to get a drop down menu. Under that menu is a selection to calibrate the I...

Re: Audio latency and CW QSK
Well, changing the quality setting to high helped a lot, and I set my QSK switch to half break in. In that setting, it continues to mute the receiver inputs for about a second after the last key down. I made a contact with it that way last night and it worked OK. BTW, I installed the ASIO drivers, b...

Audio latency and CW QSK
OK, I've narrowed the CW transmitter overload problem to the latency of the receiver. Basically the QSK T/R switch does it's job before the signal gets through the SDRPlay, so the SDRPlay doesn't get muted before the next key down. I don't have any hang time control over the QSK switch. I installed ...

Re: RX-TX switch for SDRPlay
I have to keep qualifying my answer because the problem comes and goes. Anyway, here is another Transmit/receive switch kit I discovered today:

Re: Will SDR Play work to do HF Aviation Scanning?
There is a scanning plugin available for SDR# , but I don't know if SDR# is playing nice with SDRPlay anymore.
