Re: Sdr-console V3 Preview is out

I got used to v2 over the past weeks and it's what I use a lot on shortwave by now, installed v3 yesterday and I must say I'm impressed by the new look and feel of v3. The UI looks more modern, cleaner and crisper (the spectrum display is just plain awesome) and some basic things like dialing in a f...

Re: Indoor antenna for Short Wave

The preamp can be switched for all possible loop configurations, loop A or loop B alone, crossed loops, dipole. You'll find all the details on the seller's website.

Re: No ADS-B Reception

I can assure you that reception of 1090 MHz is a lot better with a receiver (such as the RSP1) between the antenna and the computer. The version of the Dump1090 decoder you can download from the SDRPlay website was specifically recoded to work with the RSP1. Other options are specific ADS-...

Re: ADSB News?

I"m currently having trouble to get that running with Globe-S (or ADSBscope for that matter). When I change the Dump1090 port to match the Globe-S input setting I"m getting a crash (in a VCRT module as it seems): Faulting application name: dump1090_sdrplay.exe, version: 1.10.2910.14, time stamp: 0x5...

Re: Serveral Issues here - pls help

i´ve ordered a kit from SV1AFN that has the possibility to implement a highpass filter before the pga-103 and even (if wanted) after the amplifier. so i soldered a HPF with to remove the FM-band (Fg around 115 MHz). will be interesting how it plays out, i´ll run this LNA with a homebrew QFH antenna...

Re: Serveral Issues here - pls help

I notice that in all these cases of poor reception, the wanted signal is lined up with the DC spike. Surely this is a no-no? Why not just move the wanted frequency to one side? Apologies if I've mis-read the situation (I'm good at that...). I'd say the DC spike is a no-no and pretty annoying. All s...

Re: Serveral Issues here - pls help

Hi, I'm basically in the same "coming from the RTL dongle"-boat and I feel your pain but I'm also a few weeks ahead of you. :D 1. The only way to get rid of the spike on QRGs higher than 30 MHz is currently not using SDR Console but HDSDR or SDR# v1361 instead. They make use of the ExtIO.DLL that le...

Re: How the LNA can help with your antenna woes

(Part 2) Indoor antennas may give you considerably less mileage. There will be more noise indoors, reducing your SNR and modern buildings make that even worse by attenuating the signal - wall and roof insulation with aluminum foils, heat and UV protection glass, roofing tiles with metal particles, y...
