Re: How does SDRplay hold up in city enviornments?

The filters in the RSP are definitely inadequate in a strong RF environment, especially those strong FM transmitters. I have one close to me as well. You need your own, good bandpass filtering in front of it. Re: the Flex-6500, I don't know the specs on its receiver, but I would also assume that it'...

Re: SDRPlay Performance

I meant to give you a few examples when I wrote my post this morning, but didn't have time - had to run out to do some errands. So, now that I'm back, I'd like to to add a little bit of info/details, take a look at these cards as a few examples: Typical USB expansion card: https://www.amazon.com/SED...

Re: SDRPlay Performance

If you're running at a constant level of 60%-70%, you will get spikes to 100% from just about anything else you do, especially Firefox, which is known to be a resource pig at times. You should run this on something that stays level at no more than 20% when running the RSP. Also, it you're at 60%-70%...

Re: Airband

The issue with imaging is very well known amonst ALL inexpensive SDRs of this type that do not have bandpass or other filtering built in. More expensive SDRs have bandpass and/or lowpass filtering built in (lowpass for HF type SDRs). It's also well documented that you NEED to put one or more filters...

Re: window positions not saved

To add a little detail about workspaces to sdrplay's comments... You can save multiple different workspaces. Each workspace saves which windows are currently open and their size and position. You don't have to click on JUST the workspace that is displayed in the workspace name field. If you just lef...

Re: SDRPlay / FM SCA decoding

Look at this webpage: http://www.blackcatsystems.com/radio/sca.html

It contains all the information you need to learn how to receive SCA transmissions.

Re: SDRUno - setting bandwidth

Just grab and drag each side of the demodulation window with your mouse. Do this in the smaller window that shows the signal, not the one with the entire spectrum. It'll be easier to see and grab the edges in that window.

Re: Antenna Separation

BTW, the advantage of a limiter like I suggested rather than a switch that takes the radio offline is that you can monitor your own signal. This is especially helpful for digital work so you can ensure you're putting out a clean signal.

Re: Antenna Separation

Another option is this: https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dxe-rg-5000. It limits the RF level going into the receiver to safe levels.

Re: SDRuno frequency scrolling out of control

When the system freezes, are you continuing to try to get it to respond by by the mouse, and/or scrolling the mouse wheel? From your description, it sounds like your system is freezing up, but storing your mouse scrolling movements. Then when it unfreezes, it feeds the movements back to the program,...
