Re: daul band

No. You can receive multiple signals, but they must be within the receiver bandwidth, about 10MHz. So, any frequency +/- about 5MHz from the center frequency can be tuned simultaneously. The only SDR I'm aware of that allows multiple simultaneous receivers on different bands are the Flex radios. For...

Re: Shortwave Radio (aka HF 2000-30,000kHz)

Adam - Welcome to the group. I've been a radio scanner and HF enthusiast since high school (1973-1977), where I belonged to the high school run radio station, WMTH (a whopping 10 watts :-). My primary interest is digital. I love to search for and if possible, identify and decode digital signals. Des...

Re: Antenna Referred Power Measurement.

DanubeBCL - I agree with your comments re: measurements. The only measurements I trust are Sherwoods. He's measured and writeen up a few of the SDRs, although I don't recall which ones at the moment. He came up with a measurement that fairly measures them and that the manufacturers cannot fudge (alt...

Re: RSP2 SDRUNO

We're all in that same boat. I got a RSP2, but am also waiting for Simon to add support into his Console. I don't think it will take long. I was planning to sell my RSP1 as soon as I got the RSP2, but I decided to wait until Simon's Console supports the RSP2. Keep checking his Yahoo group. He'll pos...

Re: Morse code decoder?

A few other decoders to consider: MRP40 - supposed to be the best under poor conditions. Not free. MultiPSK - a multi-mode decoder. Can be free or pay. Paying gets additional modes not included in the free version. The GUI can be daunting because it's very cluttered. Once you learn it, it's no more ...

Re: Antenna Referred Power Measurement.

DanubeBCL's post makes me wonder about something. The other SDRs he mentioned that "play in another league" do so mainly because they sample the signal at a much higher rate and with more bits. I have a NetSDR, and a WinRadioG33DDC, which have 16-bit, 122msps and 16-bit 100msps ADCs, respectively. C...

Re: Client / Server

OH2BUA - thanks for the sound info on VNC. I've used VNC for ages, but never needed sound, so I never realized it didn't support it. I just did some Googling and discovered there is NO version of VNC that supports sound. Devotech - thanks for the info about Teamviewer. It seems like there's a remote...

Re: Client / Server

Another option is to use Simon Brown's SDR-Radio as your SDR software instead of SDRUno. It has remote ability built in. His software already supports the RSP1, but not the RSP2 yet, as I just found out when I unwrapped my shiny, new RSP2 the other day :-( I'm not sure if his software supports all t...

Re: QS1R Operation question

This is a note / suggestion to the SDRUno developers: In the SDRUno documentation, please write specific details for EACH RADIO other than the RSP on how to get the radio to work with SDRUno. For example, for the QS1R, it needs the following files: ExtIO_qs1r.dll qs1r_firmware_03032011.hex QS1R_WINR...

Re: SDRPlay as remote receiver over WIFI

It seems like bandwidth will be the problem for any SDR device. There are some other alternatives: 1. A device designed to operate over the internet, such as the Cloud-IQ from RFSpace (http://rfspace.com/RFSPACE/CloudIQ.html). That doesn't help you with your SDRPlay, but it's a SDR designed for inte...
