Half waves are high impedance feed so you can get away with no ground. If your RX has a Hi-z antenna port it will match quite well.

Seventeen feet is about right, but remember you'll need an earth/gnd.

Sounds like either no-one else has had this problem or no-one knows how to correct it. Try opening a ticket over at the main SDRPlay site. I think it's in the 'support' tab.

I wouldn't worry about it, Paul. It is completely counter-intuitive that the loop should receive best when 'edge-on' to the source. Until you start to analyse what's going on with a loop, that is. Then you get one of those 'Ah!' moments and you never look back. Sounds like your Wellbrook is working ...

Don't forget the main responses of the Wellbrook are 'off the edges', with a hole going through the centre of the loop.

The latest versions of SDR# will not work with SDRPlay products as the writers of the software have deliberately prevented it.

Which software is this? SDRUno 1.22 won't accept it as it is above the top limit of the tuning.
