Re: SDRPlay - Future Plans

One thing that might be beneficial if you have to do a new production run would be, in my opinion, to have a separate antenna input for 150kHz - 30 MHz. As the design stands it would have to be 150 kHz to 60 MHz because of the way the filters / pre-amp are switched but as I read the circuit schemati...

Re: Some questions regarding Mirics FM-DAB Player and API

Slightly off-topic as DAB Player isn't for SDRPlay - but thanks Andi fot the software. I've been using it with an RTL stick and it should be excellent for DAB DX-ing. It would be even better if the Transmitter Identification Database data that is supposed to be transmitted was also decoded and displ...

DRM audio codec - building - HELP!

I've found the DRM decoder - successfully receiving it on 5940 kHz from 1800-1900 transmitting in AAC+ - except that it says "no audio codec found". Turns out that due to licencing issues they can't distribute the AAC codecs! So you have to build your own. Can anyone tell me what the instructions on...

Re: Using SDR# to drive the SDRplay RSP

I mean you reach the corner of the "filter" and you may tune a signal outside the "flat" bandpass. I don't know if this is a problem of SDR#, of SDR# plugin or what else... It is a function of the software and it is very irritating :x . Try using HDSDR instead. It has a LO (Local oscillator) freque...

Re: Using SDR# to drive the SDRplay RSP

if you try to set the overall gain reduction to 60 dB, it can only do this by attempting to set the IF gain reduction to 60 dB What about the Mixer gain reduction of 19dB that will kick in? After the LNA has turned off (-24dB) when the IF GR reaches a certain level the mixer gain will drop by 19dB ...

Slow Scan TV Reception

Apologies for not replying to the earlier request - I hadn't spotted it. The original was a link to my post in the Skywaves group and I note the screenshot was corrupted - so first here is a replacement showing an SSTV transmission in progress. Too large to attach so link to Box. https://app.box.com...

Re: DAB software supporting SDRPlay

Not quite the right solution - but it means I can monitor/listen to DAB whilst checking for DX on the FM Band - a program called "DAB Player" works well with a Realtek 2832 dongle. It only appears to add 2% to my CPU load (i5 4460).

Re: 21 MHZ DX pile up - screen shot and WAV file

Hi Quimquim, Thanks for suggestion - but the big rectangular block I'm talking about is to the HF side of the 15m amateur band. At 21.58-21.71 and I've also found the same block at double the frequency around 43 MHz and twice as wide. Zoom in a lot and you can see it is one transmission. BTW did you...

21 MHZ DX pile up - screen shot and WAV file

They are going absolutely nutty on 21 Hz! and I have no idea who they are working - I suspect the DX station is working split frequency - but it makes a good screen shot! https://app.box.com/s/abmzflx8dd555m3pa4crw0yj7b1dp2iz Also an 11 second long .wav file of the pile up. It is rather large as it ...

Removing Zero IF Image signals in FM Broadcast Band

When first using SDRPlay I noticed that an image of the strongest station - Heart 102.8 - was present. It turns out that this is an inherent feature of SDR receivers that use Zero IF Quadrature Switching Detector - of which SDRPlay is one. In order to get the best image (i.e. unwanted sideband) reje...
