Re: Drivers won't install
I don't claim to be an expert in Windows or RSP drivers, but there's plenty of chatter about having to make sure W7 is fully updated or the drivers won't go in. Probably a few threads on here if you go back a bit.
Re: Noise?
You won't get good signals on the HF bands from a standard discone, they are for VHF only. A long wire or dipole (depending on your circumstances) is more suitable. A low noise solution is an active loop like the Wellbrook 1530.

Re: my problem with ..uno
It's buried on page 25 of the manual, just above section 7. It'd help if it was called 'audio filter'.

Re: Loop Construction
Gazza, is this for a tuned loop with a capacitor at the top or a wideband untuned (active) loop? If it's for an untuned loop, I use a plastic hula-hoop with a turn of thick wire inside.

Re: RSP-1 as a bat receiver?
My detector is a self-contained one with a pre-amp, mixer and audio amp driving a small speaker. There's high-pass filtering in the pre-amp and low-pass in the audio amp so there's no 'howl round' from speaker to mic. The local oscillator is tunable over approx 15 to 40 KHz. I've recently found a ra...

Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator
Glovisol, has something gone amiss with your calcs? Those attenuators won't be anywhere near 46 dB. You'd need about 5k in series.

Re: RSP1 not detecting frequency
Simplest way is to click the tuning cursor to one side of the centre LO frequency, then type in your required frequency (or tune there with your mouse wheel). You can hover your mouse over the digit you want to change and then use the wheel.

Re: RSP1 not detecting frequency
Select AM mode and the 6 KHz bandwidth setting. Or wider if there are offsets in use. Also make sure your receive frequency and the displayed LO frequency are NOT the same. If they are you will get weak reception and distortion. This catches out a lot of beginners!

Re: Absolutely Green New User
In the early days of SDRUno frequency entry was KHz only, and entering a VHF frequency ended in strings of zeros. Very awkward. Now you can enter as MHz or KHz. There's a MHz button on the keyboard so you can just enter 95.5 <MHz> and the job is done. For 1530 KHz, just enter 1530 <enter>. People st...

Re: What's the difference between SDRUno and SAS?
If you are not into serious test & measurement, you won't need the Spectrum Analyser software. Although an SA is basically a radio receiver, the user interface is more suitable for measurement and analysis (with features such as max/min hold etc) than the standard Uno-type software. Actually Uno can...
