Re: Spikes

There may be slight difference between individual PC brands, but no computer is completely noise free. Everybody who claims "My PC is noisefree" has not looked close enough. The main sources for PC noise are switched power supplies in the computer itself and its peripheral devices (like monitors) an...

Re: Possible to get UTC To Show 24 Hr Format

Depends on your systemwide time format setting. I believe yours is hh:mm:ss AM/PM.
No Problem with localisations which use HH:mm:ss.

But nevertheless: UTC should not show AM/PM depending on system localisations. UTC is a 24h format. This should be corrected in SDRuno.

Re: SDRUno and Virtual Audio Cable

I would very much like to decode digital modes Normally using a VAC/VSC should be no problem. But for decoding digimodes a VAC is not always required. You can use the Stereomix option of your soundcard as a recording device. Sometimes one must explicitely activate it in the soundcard settings of th...

Re: Why you should avoid RG-58

Good shielding of the coax cable is only one small part of the story. In most cases sheat waves on the coax shielding are more evil. The only remedy against this is common mode chokes. In the vicinity of power lines the RF noise (inside and outside of houses) has a strong magnetic component. It indu...

Re: RSP RFI

Hallo Phil, although mains lines of course carry a lot of noise from the neighbouring houses into my own house they are not the problem. 1. The power lines entering my house run through strong RF filters. 2. I use intensive grounding with additional earth rods at multiple places in my antenna instal...

Re: HDSDR2 Waterfall screen noise with RSP2

OK - thanks very much. Is there a way of filtering out some of the screen noise with RSP2? That depends on how the noise comes into your receiver. Some of the countermeasures have already been mentioned. 1. Good grounding of receiver and coaxial cable shield 2. Common mode chokes at the antenna inp...

Re: Question about HDSDR and rsp1 dbfs numbers

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DBFS In short: When a signal is 0 dB FS the ADC converter only creates logical "1"s and cannot discriminate the spectrum signals any more. It overloads. The db FS value indicates how "far" a signal is away from the highest possible value the ADC can handle. It is not a ...

Re: SDRuno 1.2 and CSVuserlistbrowser problem

Yes, and also VSPE is working too, of course. In my expierence I have learned to avoid COM port names like CNCB0 or something. They work in SDRunoEXTIO here, but I had problems in SDRuno 1.2 when I tried to reconstruct Henry's problem. But no worry. It's working for Henry now. But I still recommend ...

Strange. The Return trick does not work here.
But nevertheless. Good that it is working for you.

Re: SDRuno 1.2 and CSVuserlistbrowser problem

Hello Henry, I assume you use com0com. com0com proposes COM port names which cannot be used by some softwares. The softwares expect a denomination like COM[some number], but not random letters and numbers as com0com proposes. Go into the com0com setup and rename your CNCB0, CNCB1 to COM12, COM13 (or...
