Re: Sdr-console V3 Preview is out
Please forgive me if I'm misunderstanding you, but why would you want to place a frequency (the one you want to listen to presumably?) at centre? With the SRP units (and any other 'zero IF' SDR) that's where the central DC spike is and should be avoided.

Re: Great experience with PAR Electronics EF-SWL
That's very interesting, Heinrich. My experience is just the opposite! On wire antennas and 'mini-whip' types I get terrible noise, especially at MF and LF, but the loop is much quieter and allows signals to be heard. As you say, it depends on what types of QRM you suffer from and how close it origi...

Re: Great experience with PAR Electronics EF-SWL
Hi Captain. Wire antennas are cheap and you can design or tune them across wide ranges, but I'd question their use with the high noise levels we have these days. I've been using a Wellbrook loop for the last 16 years or so and it's worth its weight in gold. Banishes noise almost completely, especial...

Re: Receiver desensitized
It's inevitable really. The AGC has to keep everything within the passband below the clipping level of the ADC or there will be severe distortion, intermod etc. So if there's a very strong signal anywhere in the selected bandwidth, the gain will reduce to accomodate it. As well as reducing the bandw...

Re: How to Enter 1090mhz
That's correct. You should be tuned to 1090 MHz.
For 146.910 MHz, enter 146910 without any decimal points.
It is quite confusing, as you enter in KHz but the software puts in decimal points and makes you think you've done it wrong. Please people at SDR Play, give us MHz/KHz keys!
Good luck!

Re: Antenna ports
I suppose antenna B input is intended for VHF and above, where masthead pre-amps are more frequently used to overcome coax losses. Most of us would not use an antenna amp on HF.

Re: How to Enter 1090mhz
Just remember that SDRUno uses KHz entry, so add three zeros on the end. I wish they'd make it MHz or KHz, and give us a key for each. My Signal Hound analyser does this - I just type 105 k or 220 m and it takes me there.

I have one of the old blue & white ones and IIRC the case just cracks apart with a bit of persuasion.

Just click on the OPT button in the small 'main' window and select 'About'. It'll tell you the version there.

Re: Looking pretty good here
The hardware and Uno software are indeed very good, but like all SDR's that boast a wide spectrum display, they will show images and other spurii. Narrow front-end filtering will get rid of the unwanted responses, but of course this will stop you using the much-trumpeted 10 MHz b/w. I find the SDR2 ...
