Re: SDRuno and DJ Controller ?

Until SDRPlay implements generic Midi support into SDRUno, version 2 of Simon's SDR Console has that support. I'm not sure about his versioon 3, which is in Beta, but I would guess that it is already there as well. At least there's one alternative you can use until it's implemented in SDRUno. Here's...

Re: SDRuno Webinar recording available

I missed because of regular weekend responsibilities. However, I was able to download it using one of the many YouTube downloaders and will watch it later this week. I skipped through it this morning for a few minutes and it appears to have been done very, very well and covers the basics. I was a pr...

Re: SDRplay incompatibility with usb 2 pci card ?

I suggest ordering one with a NEC chipset. They are known to work with all the SDRs I've read about. Amazon carries them under various names. I have 2 USB PCIe cards from Renesas, both bought from Amazon. My particular cards have 4 sets of chipsets each, allowing full bandwidth 5.0Gbps per port, or ...

Re: Metal case?

I used spray on shielding. I don't recall the brand name, but you can get it at Home Depot, Amazon, etc. I sprayed on two coats (let the first one dry thoroughly first). You also should ensure that the antenna SMA connector makes (or other grounding point on the board) good contact with the case. It...

Re: Choppy/Stuttering audio across platforms.

I'm afraid that I don't have any experience with USB based devices. You'd be adding a hub to an already existing USB port which,on a laptop is certain to give you worse performance than using the USB port directly. Many laptops have really abysmal USB performance, which leaves you without much of a ...

Re: Choppy/Stuttering audio across platforms.

If latency, buffer and software do not turn out to be the issue, you can try adding in a better USB card. I have a very high end desktop machine, but even with 32GB memory and a high end i7 processor I had stuttering issues. I bought a high end 4-port Renesas based card from Amazon and now all my pr...

Re: transmitting close to sdr play

There are several things you can do. Disconnect the coax before each transmit, but that's a lot of trouble. You can home brew a switch, assuming your transceiver has an amp interface (transceiver amplifier keying line). That same interface can be used to build a circuit that will switch the receive ...

Re: SDR# with SDRplay

Mbott - SDR# has a plugin systems that allows add-ins to the main software. There are several plugins that are very useful for scanning, recording, etc. that make it much more useful for VHF listening. These capabilities do not exist (yet) in SDR Console. I'm a HUGE supporter of Simon's work and use...

Re: SDR# End of support of the ExtIO interface?

'Thanks ziptaco for your observations. However we don't think the world is as polarised as you suggest. The Facebook group you refer to is indeed an eclectic mix and that is why we at SDRplay would not try to close them down - indeed, many of them are enthusiastic dongle and Airspy users as well. T...
