Hi
There is no mystery as it is frequency modulation well known for having a demodulated SNR better than the RF SNR.
The improvement is related to modulation index and sadly can be quite low in FM stereo .

Re: SDRPlay Performance
I'm new to this board and to SDRPlay and I'm having trouble getting my SDRPlay to work without choppy audio. My system is Windows Vista 32 bit, 4 GB of ram and a 2.40 GHz processor. Hi I never used vista but when I installed Windows 7 64 bits on my quite old PC I had for years problems with any app...

Thanks for the info .
It's the first time I hear about this software.

Re: will upgrade to 12 bit sdrplay help me?
Hi
FM reception with the SDRplay is definitely better than with any RTLdongle.
Now noise is a well known drawback of FM stereo so don't expect miracles.
The 12bits dynamic range mainly improves reception of weak signals close to strong ones.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 + SDRplay: Setup Guide?
Hi I made various test and comparisons between Orange PI and Intel based mini PC's for SDR. Using gqrx under Linux and SDRtouch under Android and various softwares under Windows 10. My conclusion is that Intel devices are much more suited due to the mathematical computations involved. May be a good ...

Re: ATV decoding with SDRplay
Analog satellite uses FM modulation the plugins are designed for AM modulation and useless in that case.

Re: Two Receivers
Hi
That is a good question.
With 2 identical RTLSDR dongles I had problems too.
But sometimes it is simpler to use 2 or more devices instead of a complex mixing/switching antenna setup.
As a bonus you can run them at the same time .

Re: SDRPlay and DRM
There is one thing I forgot to tell when using Dream to decode DRM. It may be useful to disable any kind of AGC on the software driving the SDRplay Dream does take care of that in a way more suited to DRM signals. Actually I'm using SDRsharper feeding Dream via VB cable : http://vb-audio.pagesperso-...

Re: API (1.94) and EXTIO plugin (3.9)
Very good results here too. So good that it can be tricky at times :) Exemple: Perfectly receiving a rather weak FM station I noticed that changing IF gain was noisy. In fact I was centred at zero IF by mistake and switching off DC/IQ compensation resulted in pure silence. Offsetting the frequency b...

Re: Future SDRUno Feature Request
About frequency steps I would like:
DVBT step of 8 MHz
DAB step of 1.712 MHz
8.33 KHz step for air band
Those would greatly ease scanning of the bands for DX signals.
1,10,100,1000Khz steps are useless as you get them with the mouse wheel on the corresponding digit
