i'm certainly far from expert, but perhaps it would be helpful for you to say which receiver and antenna/e you're using and perhaps whether you have any special intrerests.

AFAIK the release with the scanning function will be coming out very soon, but it won't be rushed out until they believe they have fixed any bugs. This might be a "£long-shot," but since it was on eBay, have you tried to contact the seller (it would seem to be in theri interest to respond positively).

it also "clarifies" SSB signals (sort of alters tonal values - try it!).
