Re: Protecting RSP from nearby transmitter
Thanks very much for the information. It is interesting to know that an RSP can be damaged from strong, nearby RF energy if it is connected to an antenna, even if it is powered down.

Re: Protecting RSP from nearby transmitter
BTW I tried to edit the post to add the following information, but was unable to do so because the forum told me I needed to "add at least two poll options" ?): (Frequency range involved is he HF amateur bands, power =<100w, distance ranges from a few feet (from transmitter and its coax) to tens of ...

Protecting RSP from nearby transmitter
I have several SDRplay RSP's (an RSP2 and several RSPduo's) that I'm setting up for monitoring purposes. It isn't feasible to run them all through a transmit-receive switch to protect them when I'm doing a transmitting session. However, I'd like to leave the RSP's running rather than powering them d...

Reinitialize SDR without closing/restarting SDRUno?
Occasionally when using SDRUno v1.23 with an RSPduo, I need to stop the receiver in SDRUno's Main window and unplug the USB connection between the RSPduo and the PC to make a hardware adjustment. If I do this and then reconnect the USB cable and press "Play!" in SDRUno's Main window, I get an error:...

Re: Mac or Windows?
I'd say it depends on which operating system you're most comfortable with. Currently I'm using macOS as my ham radio computer (running WSJT-X for transmit/receive, keeping my log files, etc), while I use a Windows PC as my shortwave listening computer (running SDRUno). I also use Linux for other rad...

Re: Setting up multiple instances of WSJT-X with VRX's?
That's a good idea -- I can just use VRX 0 for the LO, then VRX 1, 2 and 3 for bands I want to monitor. My use is at HF, but I'm just trying to picture how you have yours set up for L-Band. You mentioned running 10 VRX's at once. Are those all off of one SDRplay tuner? Given that the maximum bandwid...

Re: Setting up multiple instances of WSJT-X with VRX's?
Hi Mike, Thanks very much for the reply. I plan to try out MultiPSK soon, so I may want to throw out some more questions about that at some point. Meanwhile, I did eventually find the settings menu to set the audio out device for each VRX. I also got the cables set up in VAC. I was able to find some...

Setting up multiple instances of WSJT-X with VRX's?
Using SDRUno v1.23 with Tuner 2 on my RSPduo, I followed instructions in the SDRplay Application Note "Monitoring Multiple Bands with SDRUno" to set up three virtual receivers covering the 40m, 30m and 20m FT8 bands respectively. All has gone well, and I now have three really nice Aux SP windows wit...

Re: No audio with CubicSDR on Raspberry Pi
Actually I have it sorted out now. I wasn't aware that I needed to click in the waterfall to create a "modem" and start receiving audio. CubicSDR is organized a little differently from other SDR software programs I've used, and I'll have to spend more time with it (and read the manual) to get to kno...

No audio with CubicSDR on Raspberry Pi
Tonight I thought I'd try connecting my RSP2 to a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B running the CubicSDR software, installed per the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvcbnoaYnL8 The software appears to start fine and recognizes my RSP2, and I see signals on the waterfall. However, I get absol...
