Re: New User

There is nothing better than SDRUno for doing Spectrum Analyzer work with an RSP. That is because they have gone to considerable effort to make sure that the dBm levels are accurate as the IF and RF levels are changed by the user or AGC algorithm. All the other packages (SDR-Console, HDSDR, CubicSDR...

Re: SDRUno and Virtual Audio Cable

I installed VAC this evening and followed the instructions on the YouTube video posted on SDRPlay’s channel. ....... I would very much like to decode digital modes, but it seems VAC isn’t playing nice with my machine, any ideas? Which VAC did you use. I use VB Cable (free) and it works perfectly wi...

Re: Is a coax switch adequate?

Your transmitter has a max power output of 100W or 50 dBm The RSP2 has a maximum input of 0 dBm continuous or 10 dBm over a short period on all the ports. So to be safe your switch needs 50-0= 50 dB of isolation. I have a quality Daiwa switch which shorts the unused inputs to ground and it claims to...

Re: Very first setup

Discones work well and they are not expensive. Good for VHF and UHF but some people use them on lower frequencies. When it comes to HF it is a tradeoff between physical size and performance. Bigger is better. Limited space antennas can work well if they are properly designed. We are at the bottom of...

Re: Newbie

1) I'm wanting to listen to HF amateur bands, HF Oceanic traffic and VHF Air Band. I'm happy that I'll have to use two different antennas, but what receiver would be best. If there is only a single antenna port how would I switch antennas? It all depends on what you mean by Best. The RSP1A and RSP2...

Re: Using RSP Pro 2 for CW RTTY decoding?

You might try watching this video which shows step by step how to get SDRuno to pass sound to Fldigi for decode. It shows PSK31 being decoded but FLdigi also does RTTY, CW etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CM1I7agMCzw . Note FLDigi will not track your receiver frequency because a Virtual Com port...

Re: RSP2 RF Protection Question

Jim, I can't imagine that two antennas that close will be able to operate in full duplex without a good RF filter on the receive side. Just too much RF coming into the front end of any receiver. With any broadband SDR, like the SDRPlay, you will still want some front end protection. If you want to o...
