Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

Hi Steve, Yes, that particular peak at 103.85MHz @ -30dBm reference was the aspect that set me off thinking that something was wrong and some more complicated interaction was going on. In a way, I feel comforted that the peak at 103.85MHz is not expected behavior (by you at any rate), and I will tr...

Re: dBm accuracy

What is the accuracy of the dBm measuring within the SA? Is this the best accuracy I will get from this? I think this is a fantastic piece of software, but maybe I'm looking for higher accuracy than this will provide. Hi HNRAO There will a small difference in gain levels between radios due to a var...

Re: AD9850-ARDUINO Interconnect

Breadboarding AD9850 and ARDUINO Nano for a Tracking Gen, SW compiled in Nano and returned responses are good. Interconnect pin numbers returned but uncertain of what the "S" Sync connection is on the AD9850 module, this is the connection to the Nano D8 pin. Please advise or correct me if it looks ...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

I had attached the plots (or so `I was told...) I will try reattaching them in two submissions this time. It is not so much the noise floor that increases, but the shape of the curves as well, especially around marker 'C'. Many thanks, Mike. Hi Mike Regarding the noise floor, the plots are as I wou...

Re: RSP SPECTRUM ANALISER VER. 0.9 Vs. VER. 1.0

Hi Steve, My apologies. I managed to go down to 100 KHz and so far so good. My problem was I could not and cannot see the zero: the system manipulates the frequencies so that zero is forever hidden. But I am still learning... Hi Gianfranco I'll check the code, I think there is a minimum frequency t...

Re: FILTER DEVELOPMENT WITH NEW VER. 1.0a SPECTRUM ANALYSER SOFTWARE

THREE SECTION/TWO STUB COAXIAL LINE BANDSTOP FILTER FOR FM BROADCAST BAND SUPPRESSION - CLOSEUP DATA Hi Glovisol Very nice screen-shots, great to see the analyser being put to good use. Looking at your screen-shots, it looks as if you might be running under Vista. I've just installed the analyser o...

Re: RSP SPECTRUM ANALISER VER. 0.9 Vs. VER. 1.0

USING BOTH VERSIONS TO BEST ADVANTAGE It seems to me that Ver. 1.0 does not supersede Ver. 0.9, but supplements it for the wider span ranges. The main point is that (unless I am mistaken as such early stage!) Ver. 1.0 does not see down to zero frequency, while Ver. 0.9 does quite well. So for low f...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

I have come across some confusing behaviour that I thought it worth mentioning. My understanding is that the reference level for the plot just sets the numerical level for the top of the plot. Is this correct or is it somehow used in the log function calculation? Hi Mike The "Ref - dBm" control set...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

Hi Steve, Thanks for your reply. 1) I will contact Tech Support, but could you kindly explain how you define "Ref - dBm" button. Please see the attached. When the Ref is set to -40dBm, the noise floor is quite low with so many spurs. Then, setting Ref to 0dBm shows a much higher noise floor with le...

Hi Bogdan

That looks very interesting, thank you for the links. Once I get the remaining debugging out of the way I'll get the data sheets and see what is possible.
