Re: New user question - please see my screenshot

Appr. 75 kHz spacing. Could be a switched power supply or plasma/LCD telly, indeed. If the source is in your own home (room), try a common mode choke in the coaxial cable at the receiver input or better ban every switched PS from your house. When the source is your neighbour: Good luck with your neg...

Re: CSVUserListBrowser UI instructions?

I do not have this help file nor will F1 open a help file This is totally strange. Did the application not create a folder structure as in the image after first start? Then there must be a problem with system priviliges (folder without write access) or a virus software must block something. 73, Hei...

Re: Interference identification?

That's appalling, but any knowledgable SWL or Ham could have told these 'experts' that if you apply a significant amount of RF to a piece of wire it will travel along it and radiate from it. The website of the well known German manufacturer of Fritzbox says, PLC does not interfere with radio recept...

Re: pwr supply for miniwhtp

Stabilized PS with a classical transformer are hard to find nowadays. Sometimes you can get suitable surplus wallmarts at ebay. But you have to be careful: The sellers often do know the difference between a classical transformer PS and a switched PS and tag their articles wrong. Switched PS have a t...

Re: Interference identification?

After reading this interesting web page I could not believe the sentence "The FCC limits are much higher than those in Europe and Japan." In Europe PLCs are allowed to put 105 dBµV onto the power line. I thought this huge limit could not be topped. The electric field strength measured at 3 m distanc...

Re: CSVUserListBrowser UI instructions?

The help file is already on your PC. It's called CSVUserlistBrowser.chm and is located in the application folder. You can open it by doubleclick or by pressing F1 in the application. But I don't know if this is what you want.

Re: what can it be this huge interference.... ??

IMD normally should be seen all over the spectrum, not only limited to a part of it with sharp cutoffs. But indeed the 10 kHz spacing could indicate IMD from strong local US mediumwave stations. In this case the interfering carriers should be modulated with broadcast content and change their amplitu...

Re: what can it be this huge interference.... ??

Agreed: This can be almost everything. Photovoltaic inverters, lawn mowing robots, LED bulbs... The engineers have a vivid imagination in creating all sorts of RF noise with their devices. This depends on the model, manufacturer of the device and one can seldom identity a noise source from a spectru...

Re: Page of free sofware for SDR!!!

With Sigmira you also must face that it immediately mutes the default recording device audio level after start. Doing this it excludes itself from receiveing signals from e. g. VB Cable Output. You have to un-mute the recording device in the system property tab and click "Mute" in Sigmira to avoid l...

Re: Interference identification?

Interesting read on the subject... http://www.homegridforum.org/uploads/resources/tF6A/4oMq.pdf Yes, the members of the PLC interests group have noticed in the meantime that many PLC devices in a building interfere with each other: PLC networking with LAN or WLAN extenders, "smart home" grids, dist...
