Re: Volume cuts in and out intermitently every second SOLUTION!

F1BJB - I respectfully disagree that using a large bandwidth is a bad idea in general. Many people, myself included use SDR exactly because large bandwidths are available. Besides just being better receivers overall when compared to many multiple conversion type receivers, they offer the end user th...

Re: SDRPlay as remote receiver over WIFI

I've seen WiFi USB hubs advertised, but I have no idea if they work with an SDR and if, how well. Example:

Re: Volume cuts in and out intermitently every second SOLUTION!

A large bandwidth SDR takes a LOT of processing power, and not just CPU. The same thing will happen with any SDR that has a large bandwidth. How severe the breakups are depends on several things: 1. Raw processing power, i.e. the CPU and main memory. 2. The USB chipset. This has a rather large impac...

Re: The Future of Studio1

I am a user, not a representative for either company / individual. Over the years, Sandro has been slow to release major changes to Studio1. I was a previous user of Studio1 several times over a number of years. SDRPlay has been very responsive to user requests and I am guessing that the reason they...

Re: Not able to select Afedri SDR-Net Audio or mixer

You do know that SDRUno is based on Studio1? If you're comfortable using Studio1, SDRUno will be second nature for you. SDRPlay hasn't made many cosmetic changes to it yet. Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your question. I just wanted to make you aware. I also have an Afeddir, which I will try to s...

Re: Use SDR while transmitting

If by the rf in / rf out you mean a connection on the transceiver that switches that rf line out of the chain when you transmit, then you should be ok. One way or another, you need to switch the RSP out of line when you transmit, or you will blow it up. That's not really something you want to test t...

Re: Use SDR while transmitting

Sure you can, as long as you remember to switch it EVERY TIME you transmit. It only takes one mistake to let the magic smoke out. :-)

Re: Use SDR while transmitting

That really depends on your definition of Nearby, how close the transmitting antenna is from the RSP receiving antenna, and the amount of power being transmitted. In general it is a VERY BAD IDEA to have a receiving antenna attached to any energized radio when a transmitting is nearby. Many companie...

Re: Multiple Bands on SDR Play

The only SDR that I'm aware of that allows multiple receivers on different bands (i.e. outside of the single range handled by the DDC) is the Flex series. Even those radios, it might only be the higher end ones that provide that ability. I'm not exactly sure how they do that - maybe multiple DDCs? I...

Re: How does SDRplay hold up in city enviornments?

Either get some good bandpass filters or get a better SDR with them built in. The NetSDR+ from RFSpace is the BEST SDR receiver I've ever heard. I have one. It has built in filters and a 16-bit DDC, but it's expensive ($1400). The G33DDC (WinRadio Excalibur) is every bit as good as the NetSDR (I hav...
