DDasty, yes is the answer to all, you can tie HDSDR to HRD and use as a panadapter, just not sure about the tap point, you need to check where everyone else taps the 756, the SDRplay will cover all, even if it's 9mhz 13Mhz or 68mhz... ou will be able to click ...

Hi guys. I've got Sdrplay since 2 week and i'm very surprised for good performance. I've got also a icom 756 (not pro) and i can say hear signals more clear and with less noise. SDRplay with CubicSDR?
... it's a terrible program, resource hog, etc. I am planning to use gnuradio, but only for development purposes. I am planning to use SDRplay as panadapter for my HAM radio tranceiver. For this i use CubicSDR which also uses the osmosdr library. Can anyone try CubicSDR and let me know if it works? ...

I got into SDR like many newbies via the cheapie RTL dongle, then added an upconverter, mainly used for HF as a panadapter and for general shortwave and shortwave utility listening. They performed OK, when used with a good antenna... the SDR bug had taken hold ...
