Re: HRIT and LRIT Low-Cost System
In the above image, The PC's USB port is powering the 50 ft active USB cable (20mA) plus the RSP2 plus the SAWBird w/power option LNA (around 30mA). Note that NooElec now offers two versions of the GOES SAWBird LNA - the version used in this article has a single RF shield and operates at around 30 m...

HRIT and LRIT Low-Cost System
This setup uses off-the-shelf components, is really easy to put together, and is comparatively low in cost. A key component of the low-cost HRIT/LRIT system is a new LNA for GOES satellite reception that NooElec, Inc. has been developing (currently described as the SAWBird GOES, though the name is s...

Re: Orbital Weather Satellite APT Image Reception
Here are some updated APT images, The increased maximum range was due to monitoring and adjusting gain in SDRuno at the beginning and end of the pass. 201804272152 APT BW NOAA 19 LR.jpg Here is another recent APT image: 201802102125 MSA 62E 2 N19 LR.jpg Here is SDRuno in operation with WXtoImg: NOAA...

Re: Not a great experience so far...
Scott,
SDRuno v1.23 for the RSPduo includes a DDE interface. Hopefully, the same DDE interface capability will be made available for the RSP2 soon. Also refer to comments here: https://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewt ... f=5&t=3250

Re: Need Help
Scott, I took a look at the manuals for all of the equipment you mentioned that you wish to connect. Here are some considerations based on your description: 1. Ham Radio Deluxe loses connection to the comm port 11 and stops after several minutes. * Based on the manual, the com port portion of Ham Ra...

Re: RSP2PRO..Its a W.I.P...Work In Progress
Regarding use of long (e.g., 50 ft+) USB extension cables, yes the correct cable can work well to save on the expense of low-loss RF cable. Here is a blog review posted by SDRplay: https://www.sdrplay.com/an-alternative- ... operation/

Re: SDRUNO, OMNIRIG and TS990
SA4MDN, Very nice choice on the TS990. It sounds like you have most of your setup working, but there is a serial port communication path issue in the serial port transmit path from the TS990 to SDRuno. First, double check the serial port cable between the TS990 and PC to ensure that your hardware is...

Re: WX Sat Reception Question
Narrow band FM mode is too narrow, if using SDRuno. To properly receive the FM signal from NOAA orbital weather satellites, taking into account Doppler shift during the pass plus the bandwidth of the signal, you should have a bandwidth setting on your receiver of around 50kHz. In SDRuno, this is ach...

Re: DSDPlus Fastlane 2.98v
John,
Have you tried looping the audio output from the RSP2 Pro software to the audio input that DSD+ is receiving on? A useful software program for doing this is LoopBeAudio.
