Startup Issues

I have an Ubuntu 16.04 system that already had GnuRadio running with the gr-osmosdr available as a source. I am also running gqrx and shinysdr. After executing the .run script to load the SDRPlay drivers, none of these systems seems to recognize the existence of the SDRPlay. I attempted to load and run CubicSDR. The SoapySDR and SoapySDRPlay modules built fine and recognize the SDRPlay. CubicSDR fails in the build step and will not compile as it is unable to locate methods in some of the objects and does not properly resolve file references that are included within the git repository.
At this point I have been unable to get any output on any of the SDR applications when pointed at the SDRPlay, and most do not ever recognize that it is included in the system.
Any thoughts or suggestions as to things to try?
