Only receiving tones at percise intervals...

Brand new user here. Got everything installed. When I hit PLAY, I get tones at precise intervals as if a signal generator has been turned on. Maybe its noise from the computer? Maybe I clicked something I shouldn't have?

I've been going through the manual and the cookbook. I even reset the registry, just in case. Any advise at this point?
