Post by jon » Wed Oct 18, 2017 7:49 pm

Version 1.2 of SDRuno will be released by the end of October.

Version 1.2 will include:

New SP1 display using new, and independent, zoom and RBW controls
More windows open by default (supports multiple screen resolutions)
Save power (dBm) and SNR (dB) to CSV file over time for the selected VFO
MHz can now be used when entering frequencies
IQ output wav files can be encoded
Keypad buttons now setup the SP1 display to “frame” each band
Saving workspaces is much easier (CTRL+W)
Mode specific step sizes
+ other features and bug fixes

Looks very promising and nice with great new features!

One thing I'm a little bit worried of - perhaps in vain:

About the new workspace/desktop resolution scaling feature. I'm operating remote-only (RDP). My host PC is capable of 4K video, but there's not even a single monitor connected to it. I use multitude of local devices: Cellphones, tablets and several laptops with different resolutions. That means that the Windows (host) session desktop resolution changes nearly every time I log in.

I hope that you kindly check that in this kind of scenario the user is not going to run in serious difficulties.

The first time SDRuno 1.2 is started (or after each factory reset) it will interrogate your display and work out the best workspace layout to use and store it as the default workspace. You are then obviously free to customise the default workspace or create other workspaces as you need to.

There is no scaling involved and SDRuno will always open the windows as per the saved workspaces from that point on as it did before.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

I watched the beta version video. I'm very pleased to see the new zoom centering and ham band display features. Great stuff.

Really excited about the new version. Any change in how SDRUno handles load on multi core processors? I am using a Xeon processor with 12 cores. When SDRUno gets busy it seems to hammer a single core. For me, I believe this contributes to the sound stuttering when using higher SR levels and deeper zooms.
