Memory Panel Columns Jumping About

Hello All.
I have a problem with the memory panel display. I don't want it full width, just the first 2 or 3 columns showing (the left hand ones, frequency, mode).
It starts off fine, but when I store a frequency, the display jumps to showing the last 3 columns on the right, so I can no longer see the frequency, unless I scroll left several columns, which is a pain. It's sort of jumping from left-justified to right-justified.
Is this a setting I've got wrong, or is it a bug?
