signal at 8.693 mHz

Post by N1EYZ » Wed Feb 14, 2018 11:02 pm

Anyone have any idea what this is? It is relatively strong and on pretty much all the time. Web searches are not really helpful. Some sort of FSK, photo below. I have not had luck decoding it with some of the standard digital software, but that may be because I'm still a little clumsy with them.

Any hints, thoughts, etc. appreciated.

I ran a speed measurement on this signal around 01:30Z. It appeared to be 100 baud. And of course the shift was 850hz. Shortly thereafter it went down. It probably shifted to a night freq.
In my experience most, but not all, of the non-ham FSK nowadays is encrypted.

Good luck.

I've long wondered about that one as well, and have never been able to get any readable data from it in any mode I've tried.
