SDRUno squelch question

Post by pb1sam » Wed Feb 21, 2018 2:47 pm

I have a problem with the squelch settings on SDRUno.
When I turn the squelch until there's no more noise, also weak signals disappear below the squelch.
I can lower the squelch a bit, but it is very sensitive.
One or two dB too much, and the squelch is open again.
Can I change a setting, so that the squelch is less sensitive?

An other question about the squelch. When I use this in SSB, the squelch respons very quickly.
Great in FM (I don't want tot hear any noise), but in SSB the voice will be cut in pieces.
Can I change a setting in SSB, so that the squelch is working with a delay?
Thanks in advance.

I suppose it's a matter of taste, but to me it seems wrong to use squelch on SSB. SSB is generally a DX.weak signal mode and it would be a very tricky thing to set up so it opens reliably on a weak SSB signal.
