FFT off when closed?

Post by NoelC » Sun Mar 11, 2018 8:08 pm

I usually watch SDRuno's waterfalls as much as I listen, but I was setting up to do some other things and decided to leave the radio audio on.

I noticed that minimizing all the SDRuno windows doesn't result an any lower CPU usage (which hovers around 4.7% normally).

Not that 4.7% is a big deal for this workstation, but I kind of expected that SDRuno would use less CPU if minimized.

I poked around a bit and noticed checkboxes in the MAIN SP and AUX SP settings panels entitled "[ ] FFT off when closed". Sounds like just the thing to stop the extra processing if not actively watching the waterfalls.

Trouble is, checking or unchecking these boxes appears to do nothing at all to the CPU usage when the windows are minimized or closed, and if I close then reopen the windows the data is all there from the intervening time, implying the ongoing transform operation was NOT off.

Are these checkboxes just not working or am I misinterpreting their meaning?

Thanks.
