Is it safer to Transmist?

Post by 4s6ryd » Sat May 05, 2018 7:27 am

Thank you for getting me in.
I have Yeasu FTDx-3000D and RSP2Pro Port A connected to the Rx Out of the rig. Using OmniRig and receiving and controlling the rig works perfect.
My worry is, can I transmit (have a QSO) while the SDR is still connected to the rig and the computer? I use 100W and gap between the SDR and the radio is about 3 feet.
Is there anything else I need to setup?

The RX out port of the FTDX3000 will go to GND when you keyup. The RSP is 100% safe when you tether to that port (or the IF out port)
