SDRuno: best settings for AIS decoding?

Hello group,

I am trying to decode AIS messages using SDRuno and MultiPSK, but experience short range and
incomplete messages. Even from merchant ships I just get a few km, although my outside full size antenna is
balcony mounted about 15 meters above ground.

My settings now: sampling rate 2 MHz, LNA+AGC on. NFM, 12 k filter, no squelch, FM DEEM off.

What would be the best settings? What are you using?

Unless you have a QTH on a cliff top overlooking the sea, AIS traffic is difficult to copy over 30km or so inland.

Thank you for reply.

I installed the AISRecFullWin software and experienced a lot better result. It is decoding both frequencies and is using
all AIS message types to extract information (MultiPSK seems not?). More than 90% of the received messages are complete.

RX range is also better, now about 15-20 km in the best direction from big ships.

I am receiving small blips at those 2 frequencies so I assume those are the AIS signals. I'm about 7 miles west and uphill from the Lake Michigan shoreline in Milwaukee with a 2 meter antenna at the top of my 40 foot tower. So I'm probably set up for good reception. What type of messages are you decoding?

This is my message statistics after about 15 minutes of listening.
